Service Description

We all need time and space for some self care. Many can dedicate areas of their busy days to practice yoga, visit the gym or go for a run. For many such physical efforts are a chore and do not offer such mental relief from their daily stresses and trials. Hobbies and crafts are a fabulous way to engage hand and mind and carry yourself to a new plane of concentration. To find the time and space often is a real challenge. Balancing work and family and then to find extra 'spare' time proves to be impossible. I am offering an opportunity to give yourself 2 full days of sewing within a luxury location with added pampering and relaxation. No phones, nothing to disturb except the sound of sewing machines Fully catered with a wide choice of healthy but very delicious and substantial menus. A buffet breakfast, 3 course lunch and 3 course dinner is included each day. Refreshments will also be available to sustain during the sewing process. No need to plan, shop or cook.......bliss. Surrounded by lush Hampshire countryside, Champneys Forest Mere has glorious walks for a nice breather between sessions. A selection of pools, tropical showers, steam and cold rooms on site to encourage a peaceful few days. You can book your stay with an optional 2 x 50 minute pamper appointments . Radiance Renewal Facial and Spa Heaven Cocoon. Or if you want to really want to treat yourself, book extra treatments including manicures, pedicures, holistic treats, massage and facials or just relax in a cosy corner with a book and drift away dreaming of your sewing project. I will add some demonstrations and hope to get some guest experts too. The sewing room overlooks the beautiful lake and will be accessible during your stay to sew as long or as little as you wish. I am a very experienced seamstress and will be in the studio between 10am and 3pm to offer advice and guidance if you would like some. I have worked in all aspects of fashion including bridal wear design, pattern cutting, retail, display and spent over 9 years as a costume maker. I have worked on many high end productions of West End theatre, film, opera and ballet. All both national and internationally. My favourites were Lion King in London, Paris, Amsterdam and Hamburg. Films such as Prince of Persia, Elizabeth the Golden Age, Phantom of the Opera and Pirates of the Caribbean 2. Opera and ballet productions in London, New York and Rome. Come and enjoy some sewing time with me in a peaceful and relaxing location.

Cancellation Policy

Prices listed are per person. You can choose either shared (twin accommodation) or sole occupancy with or without included treatments. Included treatments are Radiance Renewal Facial or Spa Heaven Cocoon but may be able for changes at the spa, subject to availability. The following is included in all options 2 x lunch 2 x dinner 2 x breakfast 2 x nights in standard room Arrival 11am on Wednesday 23rd October. Check into room approx 2pm 23rd October Check out 11am and leave on Friday 25th October Refreshments throughout the day in the sewing room Use of a robe throughout your stay, flip flops and tote bag to keep plus Brother merchandise and a gift from The Sewing Studio IOW. Use of all spa facilities including pools, Jacuzzi, steam and cold rooms. Some classes require extra payment but many are free Free on site parking. Cancellation policy for full pre payment bookings (a) Cancellations over 3 months prior – no charge. (b) 2-3 months – 25% of all facilities & services booked (c) 1-2 months – 50% (d) Less than 1 month but more than 14 days – 75% (e) Less than 14 days – 100% Should you prefer to split your payment, we can accept a deposit of 50% to secure your booking with the balance payable 4 weeks before the date of the retreat, 25th September 2024. For this option please email karen@thesewingstudioiow.co.uk to be sent an invoice with payment details. Deposits are non refundable. Please bring your own sewing machines and any equipment plus your project. Should you require help with buying anything for the retreat, please get in touch to see if we can provide for you. We will be bringing some items just in case. Please inform me of any dietary requirements. Extra treatments or classes can be prebooked, just email karen@thesewingstudioiow.co.uk with your choices.
